Founded in 1834, it enjoys a well earned reputation for its consistency and good presentation. It is the oldest handmade brand Havanas still being rolled in Cuba today. In 1890 the brand received further attention when Rudyard Kipling included the assertion that “There’s peace in a Larranaga” in his famous poem “The Betrothed”. Por Larranaga cigars are hand made using tobacco grown in the Vuelta Abajo region. The cigars are Tripa Larga (long filler) and carry the distinct aromas found in this light to medium brand.
